www.surelight.com Purchase Price :- $11.18 / £6.99 Inverter Size:- 75mm long by 15mm Wide and 25mm Deep. Weight (With Batteries):- not known Battery Type / Qty :- 2 off AAA Battery Life :- 20 Hours Continuous or 40 Hours Flashing Wire Type :- 2.3 mm Electroluminescent Lytec Estimated Lifespan:- 1000-25000 Hours depending on operating frequency Colours:- Blue Electronics:- Inverter Power supply Body Material :- Plastic This is the second of the Surelight products that I bought to evaluate for RC model night flying. The Techno Flash consists of a 620mm length of 2.3 mm Diameter wire The handle contains two AAA batteries which have to be fitted before use. A sliding cover allows access to the battery compartment Operation is via a sliding switch on the side of the handle. The first position will cause the unit to flash about 2 times a second. The second position will turn the unit on constantly. This is similar in operation to the Glo Stix descibed in the other review so I won't repeat what I said there. The main difference here is that the wire is longer and is not covered with a tube. This means it can be coiled or wraped around objects. Be careful though as too tight a radius will fracture the wire! This I know from bitter experiance on the Lime Green version that was also supposed to be shown here! Never mind as I now have a nice inverter to use with some custom connected wire (One down each wing with a central inverter) for my model plane. |

These units are lightweight colourful and should make a good toy for your kids. They wil not take abuse to the wire though (See above). The case plastic is flourescent and should also glow under a UV light.. |
