(Does not show the older non Kinetic ranges) This watch was bought after I got fed up with so called waterproof watches. I wanted something that was something of a beater and this just fits the bill perfectly. Nice sturdy construction of stainless steel with an offset screw on crown. The hands are a broad sword pattern with a heavy arrowhead on the hour hand. The outer bezel only rotates one way and has a very positive click to it's movement. The dial is covered with Lumi Bright or similar and is very very bright after a short exposure to the light. The watch uses the old but very proven 7S26 automatic movement. It does not have a hacking seconds hand but it can be stopped with careful manipulation of the crown. The movement also cannot be hand wound. You must gently shake the watch to get it going, then set the time and date and wear the watch normally. It will wind the spring up to full capacity reasonably quickly (a days use) and has a decent power reserve once you take the watch off of about 48 hours. All in all a very impressive watch for the money. The timekeeping is not up to the standard of a electronic watch and never will be. Mine gains about 30 Secs a day. But this is not what its all about anyway. This will most likely outlast many cheap electronic watches. Plus you don't have to buy batteries for it. It's fun to look at and has a very different appearance to most watches. But be warned it is reasonably heavy on the rist. If you don't like heavy watches then this might put you off. It could however be made lighter by using a rubber strap instead of the steel one. |
