Thanks to Heinnie for the chance to do this passround and to Danzo and the British Blades members for allowing me to jump the queue.

It has been quite a while since my last torch review and I just feel that I am slowly getting back into it.

What we have here is a nice well made 2 cell 6V torch that looks like it is designed to compete with the excellent Surefire 6P. I think for the price it manages this very well indeed.

As you can see from the pictures you get a very well prescented package in a delux carboard box along with a comprehensive set of colour instructions and a couple of CR123 cells.

The surprise to me is how well made this torch is. Quality machining, fit and finish of all the components are first class. Possibly not quite as good as the glossy finish of the Surefire, but not far away at all.

The light uses two CR123 cells to drive its 6V Xenon gas filled filament bulb. This is fitted into a lamp assembly with a dimpled reflector to give a smooth focus free hotspot. This projects a good distance (50 Yards or so) and is excellent as a compact carry high output torch,

The tailcap switch unscrews to allow the installation of the two CR123 ithium cells, These will power the light for about 60 minutes of use before they are exhausted.

The tailcap switch works in several ways. Unscrewed a turn or so it will lock out the switch to prevent the torch from turning on. Screw it in further and the button is able to operate the light. Push and hold for on, release for off. Screw the tailcap in further and the light will stay on all the time.

The tailcap is designed so that the light is able to stand upward on a flat surface acting in candle mode. A trick the Surefire is unable to follow due to its tailcap design.

The body design gives you a good grip on the light. The tailcap fuctions are clearly marked on the edge of it which is a nice touch.

I think for the asking price of £20 compared with the Surefire 6P at £50 it is very good value. Perfect for the car or walking the dog. The Lithium cells have a 10 year shelf life so it would also be a good emergency backup torch.

Well
